Things to Watch for: Emerging Diseases – Theleria
Anaplasmosis, a blood-borne bacterial disease primarily transmitted by ticks and needles, has been spreading in Kansas for years, causing severe red blood cell loss and death in adult cattle. A newer threat, Theileria orientalis, a protozoan parasite spread by the invasive Asian Longhorned tick, has no treatment and requires rigorous parasite control and blood transmission protocols to mitigate its impact.

September 2024 Plot Tour
Midway Coop's September 2024 Plot Tour will take place on September 4th, featuring a tour of the new AI-driven Fertilizer Plant in Osborne and the Lebanon plot. The event will include presentations unveiling Midway's new mobile application, developed in collaboration with AgVend, aimed at enhancing patrons' access to their information and empowering producers. Attendees can enjoy lunch and dinner and receive an invitation to be early users of the app. The tour starts at 10:30 AM at the Former Solomon Rapids seed facility.
Donation to Smith Center Recreation Commission
Midway Co-op Association in conjunction with CoBank donated a total of $10,000.00 to the Smith Center Recreation Commission. The funds will be used to assist in renovating the old bowling alley into a Youth Training Complex.

Midway Co-op Association, Inc. in conjunction with Land O’Lakes donated a total of $3,750.00 to the Lebanon Fire Department!
Smith Center New Pool
Midway Co-op Association, Inc. in conjunction with CoBank donated a total of $5,000.00 to the City of Smith Center designated for the new pool
